Aspiring Chef Cooks Up a $50,000 FAST PLAY Win

Claims prize from High Roller Blackjack progressive jackpot game

A 25-year-old Hagerstown man waits for just the right moment to buy Lottery tickets, he told officials this week. Happily, one of those moments came last Saturday when he stopped at a convenience store to buy a cold drink. He walked out refreshed in more ways than one.

The Western Maryland resident, an aspiring chef, stopped at Dual Highway BP located at 1760 Dual Highway in Hagerstown for his beverage. He also bought a $10 FAST PLAY High Roller Blackjack ticket.

“When I saw the $50,000, I was stunned,” the restaurant employee said of his prize. “I couldn’t believe my eyes, neither could my girlfriend.” When asked how they responded to the win while in the store, he said, “We’re pretty low-key people, so we were able to keep the reaction to a minimum – until we got home, that is.”

The couple plans to use the $50,000 prize as a “rainy day fund” as they begin their lives together. “You never know what might happen tomorrow,” the Washington County winner explained. “Now, when something does pop up, we have a reserve to handle it.”

The High Roller Blackjack game has plenty of prizes of all sizes for players, including 27 of its progressive jackpots. The jackpot starts at $100,000 and grows with the sale of each ticket until a player buys the winning ticket.

On Tuesday afternoon, the progressive jackpot was approaching $200,000. As for the $50,000 second-tier prize that our Hagerstown winner found, there are 16 more in circulation.
