Bel Air Player Hits $171,369 FAST PLAY Progressive Jackpot

High Roller Blackjack game pays off in spades

A Maryland Lottery player from Bel Air picked up a $10 FAST PLAY High Roller Blackjack ticket on June 7 and scored a $171,369 progressive jackpot.

Upon claiming her prize the next day at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, she proclaimed, “I was broken but I’m standing strong now, more than ever!”

Mainly she is a Multi-Match player who loyally buys tickets for the twice-a-week jackpot game. On occasion, the Harford County resident would buy scratch-offs, but said she didn’t like the small mess left by the scratched-off latex. When the Lottery launched FAST PLAY games, she continued playing Multi-Match but switched from scratch-offs to FAST PLAY games.

“They’re my thing!” she said.

The 52-year-old is keeping her big score a secret and planning no celebrations. She’ll use her winnings to pay off the loan on a vehicle she recently bought and to settle up some credit card debt.

Sharing in her good fortune is 7-Eleven #11629 at 806 Conowingo Road in Bel Air, which picks up a bonus of $1,000 for selling a winning FAST PLAY ticket of $100,000 or more.

The lucky player won the first progressive jackpot in the High Roller Blackjack game, which went on sale April 4 and has a starting progressive jackpot prize of $100,000. The progressive jackpot grows with the sale of each ticket until a lucky player buys a progressive jackpot-winning ticket. There are 17 progressive jackpot prizes remaining in the game, along with 88 second-tier $10,000 prizes.
