Catonsville Man Uses Keno Prize to Buy Second Ticket, Wins $75,020

A Baltimore County resident felt no pressure to win, he said, when he used one Keno prize to buy a 7-spot ticket with the Super Bonus feature for four drawings. The result was a $75,020 prize!

The business owner explained that he loves to play Keno once a week and spends about $20 each time, playing at a self-serve Lottery vending machine. “I play every Friday. It is a ritual after the work week is over,” he said.

The Catonsville man reports having had great luck with Keno. His prizes included a $10,000 win a few years ago. On Nov. 16, the lucky man was claiming a Keno prize of several hundred dollars at 7-Eleven #18623 in Catonsville. He decided to put some of the money into the purchase of another ticket. The 43-year-old added the Super Bonus feature, which multiplies Keno winnings by up to 20 times and guarantees a player will at least double the payout after a win.

“I said, ‘Let me get another ticket. I am playing with house money.’”

His gamble paid off as all seven of his lucky numbers hit and the Super Bonus tripled his prize. He plans to invest much of his winnings. Some of the money will go toward paying off his home mortgage and the rest will go into the stock market and his retirement fund.

“It is the smart thing to do,” the winner said. “You never know when money is going to come and go.”

His lucky Lottery retailer was 7-Eleven #18623 at 6350 Frederick Road. The Baltimore City retailer will receive a $750.20 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
