Compelling Feeling Leads Lucky Player to $50,000 Prize

Catonsville man claims prize on Cash Money instant ticket

At first, the Baltimore County man reports, he had no affinity toward the $5 Cash Money scratch-off. A sudden change of heart compelled him to buy two instant tickets in the game and one surprised him with a $50,000 top prize.

The 68-year-old made his lucky stop at the Route 40 Sunoco in Baltimore. He remembered visiting the Lottery retailer before and felt like he just needed to go back. After spotting the Cash Money instant ticket on sale, the Catonsville resident felt compelled to make his lucky two-game purchase. The loyal player scratched the games while still in the store and walked out with the confidence of a $50,000 top-prize Lottery winner.

The player immediately shared news of his Lottery luck with his wife, who said she had to see the winning instant ticket first to believe it. When asked of his plans for his windfall, the player told Lottery officials that he will treat his wife to something nice and make some needed home improvements.

His lucky Lottery retailer, Route 40 Sunoco located at 5612 Baltimore National Pike will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a top-prize winning scratch-off of $50,000.
