Dad’s Suggestion That Son Buy a FAST PLAY Ticket Leads to $50,000 Prize

I Heart Cash game delivers top-prize win

An anonymous father and his son found Lottery luck waiting for them at a local retailer in Rockville, where they each bought a FAST PLAY I Heart Cash ticket at the dad’s urging. But only the son won a $50,000 top prize in the game!

His father plays Lottery games often, said the son, who is a Lottery novice and Rockville resident. When his dad told the 22-year-old to pick out a Lottery game at Ollie’s Beer, Wine & Deli in Rockville, the son went for the $5 I Heart Cash ticket and his dad did, too. Events unfolded much like they had when the pair played Keno together one time. “I won $50 then,” the son said. “That was the greatest day!”

Imagine his surprise when he looked at his I Heart Cash ticket after arriving home that day and realized he won one of the game’s $50,000 top prizes. “I said, ‘This can’t be!’” the son recalled. He phoned his dad to share his great news and learned that their Lottery playing history had repeated itself. Just like the time they played Keno together, the son landed a lucky win and his dad did not.

The pair and the winner’s brother own a construction company that operates in Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. They also operate a home construction business in North Carolina.

The lucky winner has shared his news with his brother, his mom and his best friends, promising them a dinner to celebrate his Lottery luck. The Montgomery County man may also use some of the prize for a house down payment and take his family on vacation. One spot that came to mind was Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The FAST PLAY I Heart Cash game went on sale in January 2022 with 20 top prizes of $50,000 and 20 second-tier prizes of $5,000. It is one of three $5 FAST PLAY games currently for sale at Lottery retailers.

His lucky retailer, Ollie’s Beer, Wine & Deli, also benefits from selling the top-prize winning ticket. For its role in the big win, the store located at 2011 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
