Retired government worker was congratulated inside Lottery retailer
A Forest Hill woman almost started a party in Harford County after she purchased a winning $50,000 Ice scratch-off at the Forest Hill Sunoco at 2019 Rock Springs Road.
The $10 game gives players five winning numbers to match and our winner matched each number with a $10,000 prize to give her a total of $50,000.
“I love to play and this was a great win,” she recalled.
The retired government worker still wanted to make sure her eyes weren’t deceiving her so she took her ticket to the cashier for confirmation. He scanned the ticket and verified she was a winner.
Then the fun began inside the gas station. The clerk came out and gave the winner a hug. Next, other people came up to her to congratulate her on the win.
“It was very exciting inside the store,” she said with a smile.
According to the Harford County resident, she has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and plans to spend her prize on her family. She has been married to her husband for multiple decades and the couple might use the prize to travel to see family.
Ice arrived in stores on April 21 with the top prize of $100,000. This is our first $50,000 winner but seven $50,000 prizes are still remaining. Five out of six top prizes still remain unclaimed as a $100,000 winning ticket was sold in Hyattsville. There are also prizes remaining ranging from $10 to $10,000.
