Frederick Man Gets Racetrax Gift of $15,305 on Father’s Day

Steven Livingston of Frederick gets a $15,305 Father’s Day gift from Lady Luck by playing his age and birth year in the Racetrax game.

Lucky grandfather played special personal numbers for the big win

A 64-year-old Frederick man woke up on Father’s Day last Sunday with church on his mind. Steven Livingston contemplated staying home, but something urged him to get up and go. That something led to $15,305 in Father’s Day blessings he won’t soon forget!

While getting ready for church, the Racetrax fan was struck by a feeling that he should play his age and birthday on a Racetrax wager. So, he stopped at A-1 Choice in Frederick on his way to church and placed a $5 wager.

Steven has been lucky playing Racetrax in the past, too. He’s won a little here and there and even enough to pay off his car, which he recently did. On Sunday, his luck continued when he played 6, 4, 5 and 8 on a Superfecta bet and won big.

“I was early for church so I sat in my car and checked the numbers,” said Steven. “When I saw that winning message, I just thought, ‘Thank you, Lord.’”

The father of four and grandfather of two gathered himself and went into church. He later shared the news of his prize with his wife and family and celebrated both Father’s Day and his big win.

Retired from the U.S. Army, Steven said he plans to continue enjoying life with his $15,305 windfall. The avid traveler will continue to do that, but will also help family members financially and donate to his church. He plans to pay off some credit card bills, too.

“I’ll be debt free by the end of the week,” he told Lottery officials.

A-1 Choice located at 300 S. Jefferson in Frederick is also celebrating this win. For selling the lucky ticket, the Lottery retailer will receive a $153.05 bonus from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
