Germantown Mom Takes Home $50,000 Scratch-off Prize

A woman from Germantown visited the Maryland Lottery office in Baltimore on June 26 to claim the fourth out of eight $50,000 prizes on the Mosaic Money scratch-off game.

which has been available for about three months.

The $5 ticket has a distinctive design evocative of ancient Mediterranean floor mosaics in a turquoise, pale pink and white color scheme.

The winner said the prize money would help to facilitate a previously planned trip to the Six Flags theme park for she and her husband and their two children.

As for the bulk of the winnings, she said she and her husband are still thinking about it, but acknowledged having money on hand for their children is a big advantage.

Mosaic Money went on sale March 24. In addition to four $50,000 top prizes that remain unclaimed as of June 27, the game also has five of its original 10 $5,000 prizes, 25 of 34 $1,000 prizes and tens of thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to $500 that remain unclaimed.

The Montgomery County mom bought the winning ticket at Town Center Sunoco at 19738 Germantown Road in Germantown. The shop receives a bonus of $500 for selling the top-tier winning scratch-off ticket.
