‘I Finally Got One!’ Says Baltimore Man of $50,000 Top Prize

Claims prize on straight Pick 5 ticket

This isn’t his first time winning Maryland Lottery prizes but after years of playing, a Baltimore resident found the big win he was hoping for in a game that started in February. He placed a Pick 5 $1 straight bet for a week of midday drawings starting Sept. 25 and, just two days later, learned he won $50,000.

The 59-year-old got his lucky break at Ingleside Food Mart located at 1022 Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville, where he frequently goes to buy Lottery games.

“I play often and I’ve won several times, but I finally got the one I was looking for,” said the Lottery veteran. The winner works as an independent contractor for a local newspaper. He noticed a five-digit number on a box he was delivering and that’s the number he chose to play.

When asked of his plans for his prize, he says he just plans to keep on playing Lottery games.

His lucky retailer, Ingleside Food Mart, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a Pick 5 ticket worth $50,000.
