Gwynn Oak woman claims $50,000 top prize
A Baltimore County woman plays a variety of Lottery games several times a week. When playing Bonus Match 5, she fills out her playslip with her birth date as well as those of her four children. Lady Luck gave her a reason to celebrate on March 10, when she won a $50,000 top prize in the Bonus Match 5 drawing.
The 78-year-old bought her $4 ticket at Maryland Liquors located at 6025 Liberty Road in Baltimore. She checked the Bonus Match 5 winning numbers on the Lottery website that night and realized she had a winning ticket. The happy Gwynn Oak resident showed her daughter the ticket for confirmation. Elation set in as they looked at the winning ticket in disbelief.
Retired since 2016, the lucky lady plans to use her winnings to pay bills, help family members and take a vacation.
Her lucky Baltimore County retailer, Maryland Liquors, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a top-prize winning ticket worth $50,000.
