Lucky Scratch-off Makes Perry Hall Man a Maryland Lottery Millionaire

100X The Cash game, a $20 ticket, delivers top-prize win

A Baltimore County scratch-off player is a Maryland Lottery millionaire, thanks to a $20 instant ticket he bought at a Nottingham convenience store.

The anonymous 66-year-old is a loyal player with two favorite Lottery retailers. The Player wound up last week at one of his favorite spots, Dash In #14992, which is located at 9005 Belair Road in Perry Hall. He selected a $20 100X The Cash scratch-off and discovered Lottery luck had come his way.

“I scanned the ticket and saw the message,” he said. The grandfather of one recalled thinking, “What the heck is that,” as he looked at the message proclaiming he won an unbelievably large prize.

“I thought it was a scam,” he said. When the Perry Hall resident took the scratch-off to the clerk, she excitedly said, “Oh, you won, you won!”

The new Maryland Lottery millionaire and his wife, who recently retired, plan to each buy new cars with the prize, make some home improvements and invest the rest. The 100X The Cash scratch-off first went on sale in November 2020. The $1 million prize the Baltimore County player claimed Sept. 21 was the second to last of six top prizes on the game.

For its role in selling a $1 million top-prize winning scratch-off, the retailer earns a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery.

The 100X The Cash game offers 20 chances to win and still has lots of unclaimed prizes. In addition to a single remaining $1 million prize, there are three more $50,000 prizes, four $10,000 prizes and 14 at the $5,000 level. The scratch-off is a member of a family of multiplier games, many of which are still available in stores. Look for the $1 5X The Cash, $2 10X The Cash, $5 20X The Cash and $10 50X The Cash games at your local Lottery retailers.
