Summer travel, quinceañera celebration and more lottery tickets on player’s agenda
An enthusiastic Maryland Lottery player from Riverdale reports she enjoys playing and winning relatively small prizes, so when she won $100,000 on the $10 scratch-off game MONOPOLY X50, she was especially pleased.
The winner was recently out running errands as she approached the Whitfield Sunoco station at 9105 Annapolis Road in Lanham. Prior to heading home, the winner decided to stop and buy a scratch-off.
Once home, she started to scratch the ticket. Across the top of the play area, she revealed the five “winning numbers,” with the last one being 18. She then revealed the numbers over the prize amounts – but not the actual prize amounts – in the “your numbers” part of the play area. The first number on the second line was 18, so she scratched the prize to reveal $100,000.
The proceeds will help pay for some summer travel in the coming months, a quinceañera celebration for her daughter, and, the mom said with a smile, more lottery tickets.
The Sunoco station, at 9105 Annapolis Road in Lanham receives a bonus of $1,000, equal to 1% of the prize total.
The game, from the Maryland Lottery and licensed by Scientific Games, LLC., is part of a Maryland Lottery family of MONOPOLY games and a MONOPOLY Second-Chance Promotion. Players can enter any of the six non-winning MONOPOLY scratch-offs into My Lottery Rewards for a chance to win a rolling cash jackpot or cash prize. Monthly drawings through July will award $5,000 prizes and rolling cash jackpots that start at $10,000 and grow until the drawing date.
