As the jackpots for Mega Millions and Powerball continued to rise, Maryland Lottery players had a successful week, led by a $500,000 prize on a Gifts of Green scratch-off ticket sold in Dundalk.
Meanwhile, as the Mega Millions jackpot climbed to an estimated annuity value of $707 million ($307.7 million estimated cash value) for the July 21 drawing, a Mega Millions player in Seat Pleasant won $30,000. If the jackpot is hit at $707 million, it would be the 10th-largest in Mega Millions history.
The Powerball jackpot has risen to an estimated annuity value of $544 million ($241.6 million estimated cash value) for the July 20 drawing, and three Powerball tickets sold last week in Annapolis, Greenbelt and North East each won $50,000.
Statewide, the Lottery paid more than $30 million in prizes from July 13-19, including 27 tickets that paid prizes of $10,000 or more.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets worth up to and including $600. More information is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.
