A Lottery fan from Abingdon claimed his personal best win Sept. 29, a $50,000 prize on the daily game Bonus Match 5.
But it wasn’t his first win and he hopes it isn’t his last.
“I won on Pick 3 the other night,” the player said when he claimed his Bonus Match 5 top prize. A few evenings before he claimed the Bonus Match 5 prize, he was one of many people who played 555, which hit on the evening of Sept. 26, paying $500 on a $1 bet or $250 on a 50-cent bet.
A fan of many Lottery games, the winner took advantage of the $6 for nine combinations deal on Bonus Match 5 in the Sept. 13 drawing, and one combination matched all the numbers drawn.
“It’s a chance to win and it’s fun,” he said of being a Lottery regular.
As for the prize money, the winner says it’ll end up in savings until he and his wife decide what to do with it, though some home upgrades and fixes are likely to consume part of it.
“It’s not enough to pay off the mortgage,” he said, putting the windfall into perspective.
Still, it’s enough to celebrate and he and his family will be having a night out to that end.
He bought the winning ticket at the Carroll Fuel gas station at 4 Bel Air South Parkway in Bel Air. The Harford County store receives a bonus of $500.
