Cecil County Retailer Sells $1 Million Winning Mega Millions Ticket

Jackpot hit in Minnesota in Tuesday’s drawing

Who is our new millionaire? If you bought a Mega Millions ticket at Royal Farms #087 in Conowingo for the Tuesday, April 12 drawing, check it for a big win because the Maryland Lottery is waiting to welcome the state’s newest millionaire.

Three tickets in Maryland, Florida and New Jersey matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture $1 million second-tier prizes. Meanwhile, a ticket sold in Minnesota won the Mega Millions jackpot in the April 12 drawing, an estimated annuity value of $106 million ($64.5 million cash option).

The winning numbers in the drawing were 2, 8, 14, 20 and 31; the Mega Ball was 17 and the optional Megaplier was x2.  Maryland had 11,541 winners in the drawing with 2,043 players adding the Megaplier to tickets.

This is Maryland’s second $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in 2022. The first big win of the year came in the Jan. 18 drawing on a ticket sold by 7-Eleven #25410 at 500 Donaldson Avenue in Severn. A lucky Severn man won the prize. The state had three $1 million winning tickets in 2021, two in 2020, two in 2019, three in 2018 and one in 2017.

The Cecil County retailer that sold the newest $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket is located at 379 Conowingo Road in Conowingo. Royal Farms #087 will receive a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the ticket.

Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes.
