Joyful Winner Learns FAST PLAY Prize is $100,000, Not $20,000!

Discovers value of her ticket at Lottery headquarters

A Columbia woman was already happy when she thought she won $20,000 playing the FAST PLAY Money Multiplier game. Imagine her surprise when she went to Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim her prize and she learned she actually won $100,000!

The 70-year-old is no stranger to winning. While playing Lottery games for two decades, she has won a second-chance promotion cruise and $5,000 on a scratch-off. “I didn’t think I was going to win anything else,” the joyful winner said. “I was already thankful for what I’ve already won, now I’ve very excited.”

The Howard County resident found her lucky FAST PLAY ticket at Giant #155 in Columbia. Each week, she plays Lottery games at the store after buying groceries. The loyal player currently prefers FAST PLAY games to scratch-offs because she finds it easier to keep paper FAST PLAY tickets compared to the thicker scratch-offs. Thanks to her newfound affinity for FAST PLAY, the lucky lady found a $100,000 fortune.

The winner retired from the IRS in 2011. Plans for her prize include making home improvements such as repairing a bathroom, buying a new dryer and installing a new deck.

Giant #155 is in luck as well. The Lottery retailer located at 7200 Cradlerock Way receives a $1,000 bonus for selling a winning FAST PLAY ticket worth $100,000 or more.
