Claims $50,000 prize on 20X The Cash game
All it took was a short commercial to convince one lucky man to buy one of the Maryland Lottery’s new 20X The Cash scratch-offs. Making that purchase led to a delightful $50,000 fortune.
After seeing the X Multiplier scratch-offs commercial, the 54-year-old visited George’s Liquors, located at 2101 Merritt Avenue in Baltimore. He plays Lottery games every day, including draw games, but said he was intrigued by these new multiplier games. The Hanover resident knew right away that he held a winning instant ticket.
“I actually couldn’t believe it,” he said, “I thought I read it wrong.” He then showed the scratch-off to his wife, who was nearby, and she was equally as shocked. “I’ve won before, but I was really surprised by this win,” he said.
When asked of his plans for the prize, the happy husband said that he’s going to treat himself to a new car.
George’s Liquors will receive a $500 bonus for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off. This is the first top prize discovered on the instant ticket, which went on sale on Jan. 18. There are still nine top prizes remaining.
The 20X The Cash game is a member of the X Multiplier Family of Games, which offer “xtra xciting” ways to win. The five games in the scratch-off family offer instant-win prizes of up to $1 million and second-chance prizes of up to $50,000 on non-winning scratch-offs.
