Player claims top prize on $5 scratch-off
The name of the Maryland Lottery scratch-off says it all – it’s simply Lucky. A 63-year-old Anne Arundel County player found his luck in the form of a $50,000 top prize by playing the Lucky scratch-off.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said he enjoys playing the occasional instant ticket. This prize is by far the largest he’s won yet. Although shocked by the win, the Arnold resident already has big plans that include buying property.
He found his lucky winning instant ticket at 7-Eleven #36081. The Lottery retailer, located at 945 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
Plenty of prizes remain in this popular $5 game, including eight more $50,000 top prizes and 10 $5,000 prizes. Lucky is one of three games that went on sale in September that have the word lucky in their name. The other instant tickets are the $10 $10,000 Lucky game and the $30 $100,000 Lucky game.
