Maryland Lottery Winners Head to Chicago for Warehouse Dash Trip

Winners randomly selected from 2019 and 2020 holiday-themed promotions

Six Maryland Lottery winners and their guests have been patiently waiting for this weekend to arrive.  They will travel to Chicago for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to participate in the Warehouse Dash. The lucky winners were selected through the Maryland Lottery’s 2019 and 2020 Holiday Cash & Dash second-chance promotions.

Winners receive a three-day, two-night trip for two to Chicago, including airfare, hotel, welcome reception/dinner, $500 in spending money and participation in the Warehouse Dash.

During the Dash, each winner has 90 seconds to run through a merchandise-filled warehouse and grab as many items as possible, including name-brand consumer electronics, housewares and outdoor items.  Each winner and their guest will work as a team: one person will push a shopping cart while the other tosses the merchandise into it. The winners traveling to Chicago are:

  • Elizabeth Beavers from Upper Marlboro
  • Samuel James from Fort Ashby, W.Va.
  • William Jennings from Baltimore City
  • Marlene Pianowski from Sparks
    • Daughter Linda Frederick will participate on her behalf
  • Dedra Ricks from Pikesville
  • Laurie Williams from Waldorf

Two additional winners, Delia Chestnut from Baltimore and Mike Wilson from Deale, have opted to have proxies run through the warehouse in their place. They will receive all items accumulated during their assigned Dash.

To enter both the 2019 and 2020 Holiday Cash & Dash promotions, players submitted non-winning holiday-themed scratch-offs into their My Lottery Rewards accounts. In addition to the Warehouse Dash trips, the contest also awarded cash prizes. The trip was delayed for the 2019 winners due to COVID-19.
