The Ravens may be off to a disappointing start after week 1’s heartbreaking defeat, but a man from Nottingham – who isn’t even a football fan – is a big winner, thanks to the Maryland Lottery’s Ravens X10 scratch-off.
The warehouse worker was shopping in Perry Hall and decided to buy a scratch-off at the nearby Perry Hall BP at 8809 Belair Road. He scratched the ticket to reveal he is a $50,000 second-tier prize winner on the $10 game.
He revealed Sept. 11, when he claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, that he doesn’t watch football, but he is a fan of the artwork on the ticket.
The Baltimore County man matched one of his numbers on the ticket to a $50,000 square. His son accompanied him to Lottery headquarters and explained that his father was happy, but didn’t want to bring attention to himself in the store after he noticed the win.
“He wanted to keep it to himself. He checked it and got out of the store without showing any excitement,” his son said.
The son said his father plans to use the prize on a home improvement project.
The Ravens X10 and the $2 Ravens X2 tickets were released Aug. 20. The $10 game has four top-prizes of $200,000 and four prizes of $50,000, along with prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000. This is the first $50,000 claimed, leaving three unclaimed, and all $200,000 prizes remained unclaimed as of Sept. 12.
Players can enter the Ravens second-chance promotion by entering non-winning Ravens scratch-offs into their My Lottery Rewards accounts, and then select which prize they would like to enter for a chance to win. Non-winning $2 tickets receive two entries and non-winning $10 tickets give players 10 entries. The Lottery has six drawings throughout the football season, with the next one scheduled Sept. 23. The second-chance promotion prizes available for this month’s drawing include:
- One winner will become a finalist for season tickets for 20 years. That person will win $10,000, and a chance to win a pair of club-level tickets for 20 years starting with the 2026 season.
- One winner (and a guest) will travel with the team to Cincinnati for the Dec. 14 matchup. The trip includes tickets to the game, travel on the team-chartered flight, hotel, a Saturday reception with a meet-and-greet with a player and $1,000 cash.
- Two winners will each receive a pair of 2026 upper level season tickets, a parking pass and $250 in Ravens Bucks to be used for food and merchandise on game days.
- One winner will win $10,000.
- Four winners (two per home game) will be selected to participate in a Pass for Cash on-field experience, which includes $5,000 cash, a pair of tickets and a parking pass to a Ravens game, a customized jersey and two pre-game hospitality passes. Winners will join a former Ravens player on the field for the chance to win more cash.
- Three “Fans of the Game” winner will be chosen for the Ravens’ next three games They will each receive $1,000 for being selected and will get an additional $1,000 for every Ravens touchdown scored during their designated game.
