A Baltimore County woman who plays bingo- and crossword-themed scratch-offs to “keep my mind alert” got an eye-opening surprise one morning after working the night shift.
The $10 Bingo X10 6th Edition scratch-off, which arrived in stores a year ago, is one of her go-to games. She had bought that instant ticket and two others recently at one of her favorite Lottery retailers well before she went to work. After discovering the first two games were non-winners, the grandmother said to herself, “Let me wait for this one.”
She set the last game aside and time passed before she picked up the Bingo X10 game to try her luck. After getting to the eighth bingo card in her play area, the confused player put her pen down, unsure if she was viewing the game’s results correctly.
“I said, ‘Don’t tell me I’m not going to win,’” she recalled. A closer look only led to more confusion about her status as a $100,000 winner. She told herself, “Tomorrow morning, I’m going to see if it’s true” and went to work.
