A Carroll County scratch-off fan is boosting her retirement account with the $50,000 top prize she won on a Fat Wallet scratch-off.
The lucky 57-year-old came into the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle all smiles with a copy of her winning instant ticket in her hands. One of the four winning numbers on the scratch-off matched a number in the first row of the instant ticket, which means the anonymous player didn’t have to wait long to see her big win unfold right in front of her eyes.
The $5 Fat Wallet game went on sale in March with eight $50,000 top prizes and 14 $5,000 second-tier prizes. With this win, three $50,000 top prizes and eight $5,000 second-tier prizes remain. The game offers 15 chances to win prizes that start at $5.
The Carroll County Lottery retailer that sold her the lucky scratch-off also benefits. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Safeway #1616 located at 444 WMC Drive in Westminster receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
