“Hawks,” of Harford County, enjoys spending time with her mom some mornings as the two play scratch-offs. She was stunned when she won the top prize of $57,777 on Triple Red 7s Tripler.
A Harford County woman said she enjoys playing scratch-offs with her mother, but was shocked recently when she came across a $57,777 winner on the Triple Red 7s Tripler scratch-off.
The big winner, who is using the alias “Hawks,” said she has the tradition of getting together with her mother one morning a week to play scratch-offs.
They were stunned when they came across a scratch-off that had a 7 autowin symbol with a prize of $57,777. “Hawks” said she didn’t believe her eyes.
“We were shocked. We didn’t believe what it said,” she explained Sept. 4 when she claimed the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
To verify her prize, “Hawks” scanned the ticket and received the exciting “Go to Lottery” message. She still didn’t believe it was real because she had many non-winning tickets over the years.
“Normally I don’t win anything,” said “Hawks”.
The business woman plans to use her prize to pay off bills.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Wawa at 709 Belair Road in Bel Air. For selling the winner, Wawa will receive a $577 bonus.
The $5 Triple Red 7s Tripler has been in stores since mid-May and started with eight top prize of $57,777. “Hawks” is the fifth winner to claim a top prize on the game and three $57,777 prizes are still unclaimed along with tens of thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
