The Week in Winners: Pick 5 Packs a Punch with Slew of $50,000 Prizes

A slew of $50,000 wins made the daily Pick 5 game the Maryland Lottery’s hottest ticket of the past week.

The midday Pick 5 drawing on Sept. 22 produced five winning tickets that each won $50,000 prizes for matching the numbers in the exact order they were drawn: 88768. All five of those tickets were sold at Ollie’s Beer, Wine & Deli in Rockville.

But that result was outdone by the evening drawing on Sept. 27, when the winning number 62626 delivered 14 winning tickets worth $50,000 each. Ten of those were sold at an Exxon in Hanover.

Meanwhile, the ticket with the single largest prize last week was a High Voltage scratch-off sold at Hillandale Beer & Wine in Silver Spring that won $100,000.

During the week of Sept. 21-27, a total of 50 tickets statewide delivered Lottery prizes of $10,000 or more and the total winnings for all prizes statewide came to more than $29.5 million.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets worth up to and including $600. More information is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.
