Shopper Bags $50,000 Scratch-off Prize

Montgomery County woman wins big on Plu$ the Money game

A Germantown resident left the supermarket with her grocery list filled and a top-prize winning Maryland Lottery scratch-off in the bag! The 65-year-old won the first of eight top prizes available on the Plu$ the Money scratch-off, taking home a sensational $50,000 prize.

The Montgomery County resident purchased her winning scratch-off at Giant #320 located at 229 Kentlands Boulevard in Gaithersburg. As she scratched off the game, the lucky shopper revealed four winning numbers and 15 prize spots. One of those prize spots hid an instant win symbol and, underneath the symbol, the game’s $50,000 top prize.

The Plu$ the Money scratch-off debuted at Maryland Lottery retail locations statewide in December. With this win, the $5 scratch-off now has seven more $50,000 top prizes remaining and more than 640,000 other prizes of $5 to $5,000.

For its role in selling the top-prize winning scratch-off, Giant #320 earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.

The lucky winner claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters. Players can claim big prizes by scheduling socially distanced appointments, dropping off claims forms at Lottery headquarters or by mailing in their claims forms for processing.
