The Week in Winners: Maryland Lottery Makes New Millionaires on Upper and Lower Eastern Shore

Players across Maryland won more than $30.1 million during week ending May 29

Two Maryland Lottery players became millionaires last week, and one of them may not even know it yet. A scratch-off player in Wicomico County claimed one of the life-changing prizes last week, but the Lottery is still waiting to greet the Mega Millions player who won $1 million on a ticket sold in Cecil County.

In all, 38 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or redeemed in the seven days ending May 29, and the Lottery paid a total of more than $30.1 million in prizes during that span.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. Lottery prizes valued up to and including $25,000 can be redeemed at any of Maryland’s six licensed casinos. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
