The Maryland Lottery Holiday Raffle final drawing turned a player in Pikesville into a millionaire, while a FAST PLAY ticket in Gaithersburg is also a million-dollar winner and a scratch-off worth $2 million was claimed by an Eastern Shore player, all in the past week.
The Holiday Raffle also accounted for 10 of the next 11 big prizes statewide as players in Belcamp, Berlin, Bethesda, Dundalk, Laurel, Lonaconing, Middle River (two), Ocean City and Temple Hills won $100,000 each. As of Jan. 5, none of the big Holiday Raffle prizes had been claimed. The 11th $100,000 prize of the week came on a scratch-off ticket sold in Lexington Park.
During the week of Dec. 29 through Jan. 4, a total of 41 players statewide won Lottery prizes of $10,000 or more and total winnings for prizes at all levels came to nearly $36 million.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations.
