As the Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $467 million in advance of the Oct. 5 drawing, the game generated two of the Maryland Lottery’s biggest wins last week.
A Lottery player in College Park landed the week’s biggest prize, scoring $200,000 in the Sept. 30 Powerball drawing. A Powerball player in Baltimore followed with a $100,000 win on Oct. 3. Meanwhile another Lottery player in Lothian uncovered $100,000 on a $100,000 Crossword 10th Edition scratch-off. And in Rockville, the newest draw game in the Lottery’s lineup, Powerball Xs & Os™, delivered a $20,000 win on Oct. 4.
Statewide, the Lottery paid more than $28.3 million in prizes from Sept. 28-Oct 4, with 34 tickets worth $10,000 or more being sold or claimed in that span.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only.
