Anne Arundel County store sold lucky ticket in Wednesday’s drawing

Check your Powerball tickets from Wednesday’s drawing, Maryland! While no one hit the jackpot, a lucky player is $50,000 richer!

The Maryland Lottery is looking for the person who bought the $50,000-winning ticket at Lucky’s Superette, which is located at 1101 Odenton Road in Odenton. The winning numbers were 4, 9, 17, 27 and 38; the Powerball was 18. In addition to our third-tier prize winner, Maryland had 16,989 winners in the March 24 Powerball drawing, with prizes ranging from $4 to $100.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the backs of their tickets and put them in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.

The $50,000 winner can claim the prize by mail, in person by appointment or by using the dropbox at Maryland Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

Winners of smaller prizes can claim them by mail, at Lottery retailers, at casinos, by appointment at Lottery headquarters or by dropping off a completed claim form and the winning ticket in the dropbox at Lottery headquarters. Get details on how to claim by mail here, how to schedule an appointment here, via the dropbox here (see last paragraph) and at Lottery retailers and casinos here.

Because no one hit the Powerball jackpot, it rolled to $238 million for the Saturday, March 27 drawing. The cash option will be $159.8 million.

Maryland is home to three Powerball jackpot wins: $731.1 million in January 2021 (Lonaconing, Allegany County); $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County) and $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County).

This year, the state has had 18 third-tier $50,000 winners. The last Powerball jackpot win was for $33.2 million in the Jan. 30 drawing, with the lucky ticket sold in New Jersey.
