With the Powerball jackpot rolling past the $600 million mark, a ticket sold in Middle River for Saturday night’s drawing landed a $1 million prize.
But that wasn’t the Maryland Lottery’s biggest win of the week.
The largest prize across the state in the last seven days came on Oct. 15 when a FAST PLAY 20X Cash ticket sold in Chester won a progressive jackpot of more than $1.4 million.
Meanwhile, this week began with the Powerball jackpot sitting at an estimated annuity value of $607 million with an estimated cash value of $255.7 million for the drawing on Oct. 19. The $1 million winner in Saturday’s Powerball drawing was sold at the Royal Farms at 12545 Eastern Ave.
The Powerball jackpot has been rolling since it was last hit on Aug. 12, and during the current run, Powerball players in Maryland have won nearly $4.5 million, including 13 prizes of at least $50,000. In addition to Saturday’s $1 million winner, since Aug. 12 Powerball has produced a $200,000 winner in College Park; a $150,000 winner in North Beach; a pair of $100,000 winners in Baltimore and Hyattsville; and eight $50,000 winners in Baltimore, Bethesda, California, Gaithersburg, Lutherville, Middle River, Silver Spring and Waldorf.
Last week’s list of noteworthy wins included a scratch-off player in Upper Marlboro who won $500,000 on the Gifts of Green ticket; a Racetrax player in Elkridge who won $108,470; and another scratch-off player in Lanham won scored $100,000 on the High Voltage ticket.
The Lottery’s newest draw game, Powerball Xs & Os, which made its debut in September, delivered a $20,000 win on Sunday night on a ticket purchased in the Worcester County community of Pocomoke City.
During the week of Oct. 12-18, a total of 44 tickets statewide delivered Lottery prizes of $10,000 or more and the total winnings for all prizes statewide came to more than $31.3 million.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only.
