Nearly $10 million in revenue to the state of Maryland during jackpot roll
While Marylanders missed out on a claim to the first Mega Millions jackpot hit in 2024, five lucky players won $10,000 in the Tuesday, March 26 drawing. The $1.13 million jackpot winning ticket was sold in New Jersey.
Check your tickets for a $10,000 third-tier win if you visited any of these five Maryland retailers:
- 7 to 10 Market, 4002 29th Street, Mt. Rainier (Prince George’s County).
- Giant #366, 8750 Arliss Street, Silver Spring (Montgomery County).
- Martin’s #6003, 739 Park Street, Cumberland (Allegany County).
- River Hill Sunoco, 5015 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville (Howard County).
- Shore Stop #240, 233 Main Street, Preston (Caroline County).
The winning numbers to match in the drawing were 7, 11, 22, 29 and 38; the gold Mega Ball was 4. To win the third-tier $10,000 prize, winners matched four of the regular numbers plus the Mega Ball. Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
This was the fifth largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game. In Maryland, the 15-week jackpot run created more than $3.9 million in prizes to players and nearly $10 million in estimated revenue to the state.
Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE. Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore. The jackpot win sets off the Maryland Lottery’s second Jackpot Reset promotion of 2024. Running March 29 through April 11 (unless another jackpot is hit), the promotion will issue at random a free $2 Powerball ticket to players who purchase a Mega Millions ticket. The free ticket will print immediately after the purchase and is good for the next Powerball drawing.
