The Week in Winners: $2.9 Million FAST PLAY Ticket, $500,000 Scratch-Off are Week’s Top Wins

Lottery prizes last week totaled more than $34.4 million, with 27 tickets worth $10,000 or more

A FAST PLAY ticket sold in Randallstown on Nov. 14 delivered the Maryland Lottery’s largest prize of the past week and the biggest win in the nearly five-year history of FAST PLAY games.

A $30 VIP Club ticket sold at J&S Liquors on Liberty Road in Randallstown won a progressive jackpot prize of $2,948,743. The ticket remained unclaimed as of the morning of Nov. 18.

FAST PLAY tickets are instant-win games with play styles similar to scratch-off tickets, but there is no coating to scratch. The tickets are printed on-demand by Lottery terminals and vending machines, and players find out instantly if they have won. FAST PLAY games made their debut in Maryland in February 2020, and the largest previous prize on a FAST PLAY ticket was $2.6 million in October 2021.

Meanwhile, a scratch-off player in Baltimore was a $500,000 winner last week, and another FAST PLAY player in Abingdon won a $287,056 progressive jackpot prize. All told, the Maryland Lottery paid more than $34.4 million in prizes during the seven days ending Nov. 17, including 27 tickets each worth $10,000 or more.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last date to claim for scratch-offs is posted on the scratch-offs page.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets worth up to and including $600. More information is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.
