Players across Maryland won nearly $27.9 million during week ending July 3
A Frederick retailer sold six top-prize-winning Bonus Match 5 tickets totaling more than $300,000 in prize money in the July 3 drawing of the daily game. Meanwhile, a scratch-off ticket sold in Frederick delivered a $1 million prize last week.
The Bonus Match 5 tickets for the July 3 drawing hit the top-prize-winning combination six times for a total of $300,000 — $50,000 for each of the six. The tickets also matched enough numbers on their other plays to deliver another $2,580 in prizes. In addition to the six top-tier prizes, the tickets also had six lines that each won $400 and another 12 lines that each won $15.
A million-dollar-winning Show Me $1,000,000! scratch-off ticket was claimed by a Frederick couple who had been playing scratch-off games during the wife’s treatment for cancer to help take their minds off their worries.
Those big wins were among 42 winning tickets worth $10,000 or more that were sold or redeemed in the seven days ending July 3, and the Lottery paid nearly $27.9 million in prizes during that span.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets up to and including $600. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
