Last week Maryland Lottery players scored $50,000 prizes on a Pick 5 ticket in Callaway, a Powerball ticket in Silver Spring, two scratch-off tickets sold in Hyattsville and another scratch-off sold in Nottingham.
The scratch-off wins kept coming on the 30X Cash ticket, as six of the game’s $30,000 top prizes were claimed. One of those went to a couple from Montgomery County who were in the Halloween spirit, as they brought spooky masks with them to Lottery Headquarters in Baltimore in order to pose for an anonymous winner photo. 30X Cash launched in September with more than 300 top prizes of $30,000.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot is still rolling, with an estimated annuity value for the Oct. 26 drawing at $687 million ($294.7 million cash value). Powerball players in Maryland have won more than $4.9 million in prizes since the last time the jackpot was won on Aug. 12. Powerball drawings are every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. Tickets are $2 and the sales cutoff time on drawing nights is 9:59 p.m.
During the week of Oct. 19-25, a total of 30 tickets statewide delivered Lottery prizes of $10,000 or more and the total winnings for all prizes statewide came to more than $28.7 million.
Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing date. FAST PLAY tickets expire 182 days after purchase. The last dates to claim for scratch-off tickets are posted on the scratch-offs page at mdlottery.com.
Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem tickets at the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes up to $25,000 can be claimed at the cashier window of any of the six casinos in Maryland. Prizes up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. All Maryland Lottery retailers are authorized to redeem tickets worth up to and including $600. More information is available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website.
